# Source Discovery

> Discover likely source paths and recommended crawl boundaries before creating a source workflow.

Bulkgrid supports source discovery and source path recommendation as first-class product functionality.

## What discovery does

The source discovery flow helps you inspect a site before committing to a long-lived source configuration.

It can return:

* the requested URL
* URL counts
* discovered paths
* level summaries
* warnings

## Recommendation flow

Bulkgrid also supports a recommendation flow that takes a prompt and returns recommended path actions such as:

* `include`
* `exclude`
* `neutral`

This is useful when you want help defining a realistic crawl boundary for docs, support, or marketing content.

## Why this matters

Customers usually get better retrieval quality by defining source boundaries before they run broad ingestion jobs.
